The Shops at Penn Branch (formerly known as Penn Branch Shopping Center) has been a staple of DC’s Ward 7 neighborhoods for over 50 years. Jair Lynch purchased the neighborhood retail center in October 2016 and executed a well-deserved makeover for this important community asset.
Jair Lynch completed a substantial renovation of the existing 89,000 square foot retail center and backfilled the vacated space by the District of Columbia. The renovation improved the buildings appearance and reestablished itself as a focal point within the neighborhood. Its improved image has brought more neighborhood serving retail and services to the community.
Longer term, Jair Lynch is exploring options for the expansion of the center to activate and make better use of the back lot. The Shops at Penn Branch is located on a major commuting artery serving Washington, D.C. suburbs and very close proximity to all of the major D.C.-based employment hubs. The center serves a well-established neighborhood and with exceptional visibility from Pennsylvania Avenue in both directions, it would be an ideal location for an organization looking to establish itself east of the Anacostia River.
